tl;dr? Read the title and watch this.
The wait is over for many, and I’m 99% certain it’s real this time—no more news promising more news or some other BS. Obviously, I’m referring to all us Americans waiting for nearly three years to get back our Full Tilt Poker (FTP) balances that we lost on the day infamously known as Black Friday.
[I’m too lazy to recap the exciting buildup over the past few weeks, so read this.]
Yesterday the FTP Claims Administrator, Garden City Group (GCG), sent out THE email. The one with these magical words:
“Dear Johnny G:
The purpose of this email is to inform you that your Petition for Remission has been approved and you are entitled to receive a distribution from the assets forfeited in connection with United States v. PokerStars, et al., pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
A payment in the amount of $XXXXXXX will be paid electronically via ACH to the bank account that you specified in your Petition. This payment represents the full amount of your Full Tilt Poker Account Balance, which you confirmed on the Full Tilt Poker administration online filing site. Payment will be made within the next seven business days.
If you have any questions, you can call us toll-free at (866) 250-2640, email us at info@FullTiltPokerClaims.com, or write to us at Full Tilt Poker Claims Administration, c/o GCG, P.O. Box 9965, Dublin, Ohio 43017-5965. For additional information you may also visit the administration website at www.FullTiltPokerClaims.com.”
Bink! First wave of payments here I come!
Many people saw a $0.00 “test transaction” in their bank accounts that confirmed they were getting paid. I, however, did not. So I ended up calling the GCG last week and in a quick couple of minutes they told me I was in the first wave, but reading the email feels way better.
Calling the GCG was way easier than I imagined. Even though the person on the other end seemed to be reading straight from the FTP Clams site, they were still competent enough to tell me the status of my petition.
If you have any questions or concerns, CALL THEM! (866) 250-2640

Okay, fine, maybe not actually rich, but rich…er?
But seriously, what’s next? I’m thinking some type of YPC promo would be appropriate. The details of the Johnny G’s Tilt Money (working title) promotion have yet to be determined so this is—regrettably—merely a tease. It depends how much positive feedback I get from this post—HINT HINT.
I’ve already started planting the proverbial seeds for a FTP Claims promo with this week’s #YPCtwittertrivia question.
Finally, I must apologize to some of you. I will not be quitting my job to return to the world of professional online poker. You’re all stuck with me for now. Sorry.
