First Coral and now Gala Poker. A Gala Poker affiliate rep has confirmed to YourPokerCash that the UK-based poker room will be joining Coral when they move to the iPoker2 player pool on May 1st.
In migrating to the iPoker2 network, Coral and Gala Poker join an exclusive group of poker rooms including Titan Poker, William Hill, Paddy Power Poker, Bet365 and Winner Poker, which are among the largest and most respected gaming companies in Europe.
Gala Coral has been traditionally been recognized as the operator of Coral Poker and Eurobet. After Eurobet closed in late 2011, the company refocused on Coral Poker and relaunched Gala Poker on the iPoker1 network in mid 2012.
Joining the iPoker2 network is no small feat. An iPoker room must meet and maintain requirements in a selection of metrics including active players, new player acquisitions and player account balances. These metrics generally favor the largest sports betting companies because of the player count requirement and their ability to bring in recreational players from the sports betting side of the business.
Gala Poker has credited YourPokerCash as being a contributor to the poker room's inclusion on to the iPoker2 network, which has featured the offer since the middle of the 2012. Free bankrolls have proven to be beneficial to poker rooms that wish to attract a large recreational focused player base.
In addition to the prestige iPoker2 brings to a company, playing on iPoker2 is also extremely beneficial to players. Since low limit cash games and sit n gos are segregated, players have started to gravitate towards poker rooms on the iPoker2 network due their reputation for more game selection as well as better game quality.
The segregation of players affects No Limit Hold'em heads-up, short handed up to NL400 and full ring up to NL200. Sit n gos with buy-ins up to $10 are also segregated between the two player pools. Multi-tables are shared by the entire player pool
