Party Poker Sweetens the Pot in NJ with Million Dollar Promotion

Steve Ruddock - November 29, 2013

Party Poker NJ MillionaireParty Poker’s first promotion in New Jersey is a big one, as New Jersey online players have the chance to win a $1 million cash and prize package by participating in’s New Jersey’s Next Poker Millionaire promotion.

The promotion is currently the largest being offered by any online poker provider in New Jersey.

How it works

Eight lucky players at will get a chance to play in a live single table tournament at the Borgata Hotel and Casino on February 1st, 2014. Here is how you can win your seat:

  • Finish in the Top 25 in any one of’s seven daily freeroll qualifiers
  • Finish in the Top 50 in any one of’s five daily 1-Point buy-in tournaments
  • Deposit $50 or more at the site using the bonus code MILLIONAIRE
  • Register at within seven days of the live tournament and receive one free entry

Once you have earned your way into one of the eight semi-final tournaments that take place every Sunday, beginning on December 1st, all you have to do is win. I know, easier said than done.

Each semi-final winner will earn a spot in the live tournament at the Borgata where they are guaranteed a prize-package of at least $1,000.

The winner will earn a cool $1 million, part of which is made up of a massive tournament prize package as detailed by the site:

The $1 million prize will include a WPT Alpha 8 super high roller package ($100K), a WPT World Championship seat ($15K), two entries to $3,500 WPT events held at the Borgata Casino ($7K), 52 tournament entries to the Sunday $50K ($10,400), $8,000 in live tournament entries at the Borgata Casino.

You can see the complete final table prize breakdown at the website. You can also view the terms and conditions of this promotion by visiting the Party Poker NJ promotions page.

Expected turnout for the semi-final freerolls

With multiple semi-final tickets being handed out to virtually every player at the site, you can expect these tournaments to have pretty large fields compared to your typical freeroll tournament in New Jersey.

Still, with New Jersey’s online poker industry in its absolute infancy, and participation limited to New Jersey residents, I wouldn’t expect tens of thousands of players, so my guesstimate would be fields in the high three- to low four-figure range.

Party Poker off to a good start in New Jersey

New Jersey’s online gambling industry has been up and running for a less than a week and so far Party Poker’s New Jersey online poker site,, along with its sister site, have been getting the best reviews, mostly in terms of software, deposit bonus, and of course their promotions like the New Jersey’s Next Poker Millionaire promo outlined above.
